Las nieves perpetuas del Parque Nacional Natural Los Nevados, en el eje cafetero son el nuevo escenario de la miniserie “Americanino Explora”

El PNN está conformado por los nevados del Ruiz, Santa Isabel y Tolima. El deshielo producido por las nieves perpetuas origina el nacimiento de innumerables fuentes de agua.

Este domingo se conocerá la cuarta expedición de los exploradores a las áreas protegidas de Colombia reconocida por la UNESCO como Patrimonio de la Humanidad.
Bogotá, 14 de abril de 2022. El Parque Nacional Natural Los Nevados, sus glaciales, páramos, pantanos, lagunas, frailejones, colibríes y cóndores andinos son los protagonistas del próximo capítulo de “Americanino Explora”, la miniserie documental realizada y producida por Americanino en unión con Parques Nacionales Naturales de Colombia y el Fondo Mundial para la Naturaleza Colombia (WWF Colombia) que promueve el cuidado y la protección del patrimonio natural y cultural del país.
Durante esta expedición, Santiago Acosta, creador de experiencias, hará un recorrido en el área protegida, en compañía de los guardaparques, para mostrarle al mundo las maravillas de este territorio que suministra el agua necesaria para el consumo de más de 2 millones de habitantes del Eje Cafetero.
“Hoy tenemos una oportunidad muy importante y es viajar de manera sostenible, es la forma que tenemos nosotros como colombianos de visitar nuestros Parques Nacionales Naturales y conectarnos con la naturaleza, de hacer conciencia sobre la importancia de nuestra biodiversidad, fauna, flora y recursos hídricos”, comentó Santiago.
El PNN Los Nevados fue declarado en 1974 y está presente en los departamentos de Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda y Tolima. Cuenta con una superficie de 61.144 hectáreas y ecosistemas de bosque andino, bosque alto andino, páramo y superpáramo.
Entre las especies de flora más representativas se destacan el frailejón (Espeletia hartwegiana), que se encuentra en la mayoría de las zonas de páramo del parque. En el superpáramo se encuentra el cacho de venado (Loricaria colombiana) planta endémica de Colombia y fácilmente identificable por su particular forma y belleza. Y en los bosques altos andinos o bosques nublados se ubican las palmas de cera (Ceroxylon quindiuense) árbol nacional de Colombia.
Este parque se encuentra abierto al ecoturismo y se pueden realizar actividades como senderismo, montañismo, trekking, avistamiento de aves, observación geológica, escalada en roca, actividades de investigación y educación ambiental, y actividades de salud y bienestar.
