For those searching for contemplation and rest, the Park offers magnificent beaches and the relaxing panorama of an intensely blue sea. Those who want more exciting activities can enjoy long walks, swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving.

Fauna and Flora Observation

It is the perfect place to observe fauna and flora. Among the mammals, there are monkeys, coati, paca, deer, fox and sloth. The Colombian pacific is famous for the annual arrival of the gigantic mammal, the humpback whales. Additionally, you can observe species of palms, cohíba and comino, among others.

Hiking

El Valle – Utría Trail: 9.46 km in length, about 2 hours, low difficulty. Cocalito Trail: 990 m in length, about 1 hour, medium difficulty. Estero Grande Trail: 611 m in length, about 40 minutes, low difficulty. Subaquatic Trail: 1.1 km in length, about 1 hour, low difficulty; it can be done in a canoe and during hide tide you can snorkel.

Photography and Video

The scenic beauty of Utría NNP make it an ideal place for this activity, although, if the photos or video are intended for commercial use or publication, a permit must be obtained from Parques Nacionales Naturales.

Research and Environmental Education

The exuberant nature of the protected area and its state of conservation make it an ideal place for scientific research. Additionally, as in all the parks with ecotourism, education institutions carry out environmental education activities in the park, as do the park rangers who speak to the visitors about the Park, its conservation objectives and ecotourism services and activities.

Bird Watching

Colombia is the country with the most bird species in the world, which is why it is a touristic destination for amateur and professional bird watchers. Among the species that can be observed in Utría NNP there are the turkey volute, tricolored heron, yellow-crowned night heron, osprey and duck, among others.

Scuba Diving

Scuba diving can be done in Punta Esperanza and Punta Diego, where you can find coral reefs and fauna of that ecosystem such as snapper, bullseye puffer, grouper, eel and turtles, among many other species. Scuba diving activities and equipment rental are offered in the Park.

Snorkeling

Playa Blanca has a zone demarcated for snorkeling.
