Many water sources originate in Gorgona and flow into the ocean especially in the eastern slopes. Thus, the traveler can find 25 different streams during rainy season and up to 120 in the heaviest of rainfall. The Tunapurí and Ayantuna lagoons, both home to caiman, are found on the southeastern slopes at an altitude of 8 MASL.
