- Seed dispersal, mainly by the guácharo birds through their feces (laurel and palm seeds) and by other animal species in the Park.
- Supplies water (Suaza and Fragua Grande rivers) for human and animal consumption, for agriculture, recreation and hydroelectric energy production (El Quimbo hydroelectric power plant).
- Captures and stores carbon and helps regulate climate through the sub-Andean and Andean forests and the páramo as well as the 4 wetlands protected in the Park.
- Ecotourism, through appreciation and enjoyment of the main attractions and scenic beauty of the Park.
