  1. Seed dispersal, mainly by the guácharo birds through their feces (laurel and palm seeds) and by other animal species in the Park.
  2. Supplies water (Suaza and Fragua Grande rivers) for human and animal consumption, for agriculture, recreation and hydroelectric energy production (El Quimbo hydroelectric power plant).
  3. Captures and stores carbon and helps regulate climate through the sub-Andean and Andean forests and the páramo as well as the 4 wetlands protected in the Park.
  4. Ecotourism, through appreciation and enjoyment of the main attractions and scenic beauty of the Park.
