- Conservation Objectives at the Malpelo Flora and Fauna Sanctuary
- To protect and ascertain the biodiversity of land ecosystems, and fauna and flora species present in the only oceanic island on the Colombian Pacific.
- To protect natural habitats and populations of marine species with commercial value, thus contributing to maintaining stock in influence areas.
- To preserve natural areas, representative of the insular oceanic Pacific, used for several allowed activities in the Sanctuary.
- To preserve the habitat populated by migrating populations of both endemic and endangered species.
