Conservation Objectives:

• To preserve the range of terrestrial ecosystems and the species associated to them, including thorny scrubland and the dry tropical, rain and cloud forests and their environmental services.
• To preserve the range of marine coastal ecosystems and the species associated to them, including coral reefs, rocky shores, mangrove swamps, marine phanerogam meadows, sedimentary seafloors, beaches and coastal lagoons and their environmental services.
• To maintain the different sources of water as self regulators of the park’s ecosystems.
• To preserve the ecosystems in the park that are within the indigenous territory that is part of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta complex and the archeological ruins such as Chairama or Pueblito, considered national monument and cultural heritage.
