There are two access routes to the Sanctuary by land.

From Santa Marta: you take the Troncal del Caribe highway towards Riohacha until you reach Camarones village for 165 kilometers and about 2 ½ hours by car. Once in Camarones you continue towards the sea for about 3.5 kilometers to Boca de Camarones village.

From Riohacha: you take the Troncal del Caribe highway towards Santa Marta until you reach Camarones for about 20 kilometers and 15 minutes by car. In Camarones you continue towards the sea for about 3.5 kilometers to Boca de Camarones.

From Boca de Camarones you can reach the Sanctuary’s Administrative Center, Guanebucane cabin and Los Mangles Visitor Center (during rainy season you must take a small canoe to cross the Navío Quebrado lagoon for about 50 meters).
