The Park has a great wealth of fauna such as the spotted dolphin (Stenella frontalis), and occasional presence of West Indian manatee (Trichechus manatus), reptiles such as the hawksbill sea turtle (Eretmochelys imbricate) and green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas), and up to 167 species of fish, of which 18 are endangered. Among these, there is a great diversity of colorful tropical fish, and other species like cat shark, that can grow up to 4 meters. More than 60 species of birds have also been recorded (31 marine), including ibis, cormorants, herons, seagulls and pelicans. Similarly, up to 53 species of reef building corals that constitute 83% of the coral reefs of the Colombian Caribbean sea.
