The following plants stand out: romerillo (H. juniperinum), moridera (Pernettya prostrata), mortiño (Vaccinium floribundum), oak (Gaultheria, Quercus sp.), encino (Weinmannia mariquitae and Weinmannia rollottii), Colombian walnut (Juglans neotropica), arrayán (Myrcianthes leucoxyla) and balso blanco (Heliocarpus americanus). The frailejón (Espeletia pycnophylla) stands out for its beauty and because it is a species endemic to the páramos of Nariño.
