We recommend visitors be well informed and prepared before entering any sector of the protected area, always use the services of a guide specialized in mountain climbing, maps of the zone and appropriate mountain hiking equipment.

You can reach the Park through the following access routes:

Caldas Access Route
Brisas North Sector: from Manizales on the road towards Bogotá, you turn right towards the Park at La Esperanza tourism stop (kilometer 23), then after 14km you reach the crossroad towards Murillo (Tolima) which continues on the left, while on the right you find the unpaved entrance toward the Brisas Visitor Center. Here, visitors can only enter to the Valle de las Tumbas sector (4,400 MASL) 5km further, because the Nevado del Ruíz volcano has been in Yellow Level (III) volcano activity alert since 2010. It takes three more hours to Otún Lagoon from that point.

Quindío Access Route
From Armenia to Salento and then to Valle del Cócora for about 25km on a country road, from where you can begin a hike (9 to 10 hours) to Primavera sector and Romeral páramo. From there, you can access Nevado del Tolima and Termales Cañón, or in the other direction towards El Bosque sector (Pereira municipality), Otún Lagoon and Nevado de Santa Isabel.

Tolima Access Route
