Tuparro
In 1982 Tuparro was declared National Monument and Nucleus Zone of the Biosphere Reserve. Tuparro may be described as a vast green savannah crossed by huge rivers with potent rapids and golden beaches, small clear water streams, gallery forests, and patches of moriche palm, in addition to huge rocks in the shape of rounded hills. Here, there is an estimated 320 species of birds, most of which are aquatic.
